Congress flays ‘meager’ hike in Rabi MSP

The Congress in Chhattisgarh on Thursday attacked the Modi government for announcing a “meagre” hike in the Minimum Support Price of seven of the Rabi crops.

PCC Chairman (Communication Wing) Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said in a statement that the 2 percent hike in MSP was based on wrong calculations of production cost.

“The announcement of doubling the farmers’ income is thus a mere ‘jumla’ and the increase in the MSP is the lowest in five years,” he added.
