Celebrity Big Brother UK kicks out Iron Man star Mickey Rourke over ‘threatening and aggressive’ behaviour | Hollywood News

Oscar-nominated Hollywood star Mickey Rourke’s stint on Celebrity Big Brother UK didn’t just end—it imploded. The 72-year-old actor was reportedly asked to leave the show after his week in the house was marred scandals. The makers had earlier let him off with just a warning, but the backlash following his confrontation with JoJo Siwa was so intense that fans began calling for his elimination. His continued use of offensive language didn’t help either.
“Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother house this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior,” a spokesperson for Celebrity Big Brother told Variety. Here’s what happened.

Mickey Rourke clashed with Jojo Siwa
Mickey Rourke joined Celebrity Big Brother UK after admitting his acting career “is in the toilet.” No big movies, no scripts worth reading, and as he revealed on the show, he even had to borrow $500,000 from a bank to pay his bills. Trouble on Celebrity Big Brother UK started after Rourke got into multiple arguments with the housemates. He was initially accused of using a homophobic slur directed at JoJo Siwa. On the April 9 episode, Rourke asked her, “Do you like boys or girls?” She replied, “Girls. My partner is non-binary.” Rourke then made a bizarre comment, “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore.” In response, the American singer and dancer fired back with, “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay, and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO
When the conversation turned to eviction voting, Rourke said he’d “vote the lesbian out real quick.” Siwa called that out immediately: “That’s homophobic if that was your reasoning.” Later, he said he needed a “fag” and gestured towards Siwa. When met with raised eyebrows, he downplayed it, saying, “I’m not talking about you.” After the whole scene aired and social media exploded with calls for his eviction, producers told him clearly: This kind of behavior could get him removed. “I apologise. I don’t have dishonourable intentions… I wasn’t taking it all so serious,” he said at the time.
Just days later, Mickey Rourke clashed with another housemate, Chris Hughes. According to producers, no one got physical, but Rourke used “threatening and aggressive” language, and that was the final straw. He was asked to leave. Before his exit, JoJo Siwa had even been given a special power to nominate one person for eviction. Unsurprisingly, she picked Rourke.
Bella Thorne abuse allegations
Just a day before his controversial exit, Mickey Rourke’s Girl co-star Bella Thorne accused him of physical abuse on set. After seeing Rourke’s behaviour with JoJo Siwa, Thorne posted on her Instagram: “This f—ing dude. GROSS.” According to Thorne, in one scene, she was zip-tied and on her knees, and Rourke was supposed to bring a metal grinder close to her knee cap. Instead, she claimed, he kept using “it on my genitals [through] my jeans. Hitting them over and over again. I had bruises on my pelvic bone.”Story continues below this ad
Calling the scene “one of the all-time worst experiences of” her life, Thorne recalled another scene where the Sin City actor allegedly revved a motor and drenched her in dirt, just to humiliate her. Thorne claimed she had to go into his trailer alone to convince him to finish filming because he refused to speak to the director. She said: “I had to beg. The movie could not be finished without him, and everyone’s work would’ve just been lost and completely for nothing.”
