However, according to Altman’s X post, “Images in ChatGPT are wayyyy more popular than we expected,” which overwhelmed OpenAI’s GPUs. Just a week after this development, the AI giant has now opened up the new image generator to all users.

The new image generator on ChatGPT is unlocking a new era of creativity, with users turning their pictures into art—especially into Studio Ghibli-style portraits, which have taken the internet storm.
