CM gives Rs 10 lakh to kin of IAS officer

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday handed over to Rama Uike, wife of the late IAS officer Chandrakant Uike, a cheque of Rs 10 lakh collected by the IAS Association in the state for her son’s higher education.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Association (Chhattisgarh) President and Revenue Board Chairman C.K. Khetan urged Baghel to also provide a compassionate appointment to Rama Uike.

Khetan told Baghel at the latter’s official residence that Chandrakant Uike passed away while undergoing treatment on December 4, 2019.

He said his wife held a M. Com and LLB degree and the Association wanted her appointed on a Class II post in the Women and Child Welfare or Tribal Welfare department on compassionate grounds. Her son is a Class 12 student.

The Chief Minister, while giving the cheque to Rama Uike, wished her son a bright future.

Khetan also handed over a cheque for Rs 95,000 for the CM Relief Fund. This too was collected by the IAS Association.
