US President Donald Trump has ordered a ramp-up of the nation’s nuclear weaposn programme. He has ordered immediate testing of America’s nuclear weapons. The order comes just ahead of Trump’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in South Korea.
Taking to social media platform Truth Social, Trump said while China ranks a dant third in the nuclear arms race, it’s only matter of five years that it would catch up to the US at the top spot.
“The United States has more Nuclear Weapons than any other country. This was accomplished, including a complete update and renovation of exing weapons, during my First Term in office. Because of the tremendous destructive power, I HATED to do it, but had no choice,” he said.
“Russia is second, and China is a dant third, but will be even within 5 years. Because of other countries testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis. That process will begin immediately,” Trump said.
