Chouhan interacts with woman sanitation workers
Known for his down to earth image, to mark the International Women’s Day, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday took the broom with women sanitation employees early morning in Bhopal.
Chouhan who always takes the lead in women welfare had reached the Nehru Nagar locality in Bhopal. The senior politician not only engaged in cleanliness but also held a chaupal with the women sanitation workers and asked them to offer suggestions for betterment of women.
Several workers present on the occasion also came up with suggestions including pay hike and holidays. The Chief Minister had tea with them and encouraged them for excelling in their work. For conveying a message of cleanliness, the CM also cleaned the streets with women workers.
He accepted that women forwarded several suggestions but the biggest of them all is of their dignity and respect.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Chief Minister was accompanied by all women security personnel, PSOs and even a woman vehicle driver. Women scribes accompanied the CM during his engagements.
Chouhan had made this request of deployment of all women staffers with him on Monday.
We need to work for dismantling the mentality that men are superior, said Chouhan adding women are even reaching out to the space in present era.
To start the day on Monday, Chouhan had a chat with the women SDM, OSD, security personnel, PSOs, driver and other staffers and extended greetings on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
