Chouhan pays floral tribute at the birth memorial
The birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, was celebrated with full devotion and faith in his birth place, Ambedkar Nagar, (Mhow). Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid obeisance by garlanding the statue established in the grand memorial at his birth place. He also paid floral tributes at the memorial site after visiting the asthi-kalash of Baba Saheb.
Chouhan said that the major places of Panchteerth related to the life of Babasaheb Ambedkar would be linked with the Teerth-Darshan scheme. Devotees will be able to travel free-of cost to these pilgrimages at the expense of the state government. All the expenses of food, excursion and lodging etc. will be borne by the state government for the passengers. Chouhan said that a dharamshala would be constructed at a suitable place for the devotees visiting the birth memorial at Ambedkar Nagar, Mhow. For this, the district administration has been instructed to identify revenue land.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is following the path and principles laid down by Baba Saheb Ambedkar. No stone will be left unturned in uplifting the deprived section of the society. He said that it is our duty to give a proper governance system by following social justice and harmony. Social justice and social harmony is the basic mantra. Our endeavor is to ensure that all sections of the society get justice and there should be an atmosphere of harmony in the society. He said that those who are at backmost in the society are our first priority. The Chief Minister said that Baba Saheb had given the basic mantra of ‘be educated, be organized and fight, By imbibing this basic mantra, we can make our dreams come true. Social order can be improved by following the path shown by him. We can build a good society. We are moving towards the establishment of an egalitarian society.
Tourism and Culture Minister Usha Thakur said that Ambedkar Nagar, (Mhow) is a holy place from where Babasaheb Ambedkar, Tantya Mama and other personalities are associated. He said that we have to follow the ideals and principles of Baba Saheb, so that by becoming wise and knowledgeable, we can do maximum work in national interest. He said that while discharging your duties with hard work and honesty, we should strive to become a partner in the development of the nation. At the outset, Secretary, Memorial Committee, Rajesh Wankhede delivered the welcome address. Member of Parliament Chhatar Singh Darbar, Chairman of Indore Development Authority Jaipal Singh Chavda, MLAs, public representatives, officers and a large number of devotees were present.
Chouhan also participated in the food arrangements made for the devotees at the birth place of Baba Saheb and had lunch with them. He said that today, he is privileged to have had food on the holy land of Ambedkar Nagar, the birth place of the revered Baba Saheb. On this wonderful land, the food served became special, due to which the virtue of service has become stronger in the mind.
Chouhan said that the district administration has made satisfactory arrangements for the devotees visiting the birth place of Baba Saheb in the programme held today after the Corona transition period. For this, the Chief Minister congratulated and appreciated the entire team of the district administration. The devotees who came here also expressed their gratitude for the hospitality towards the government and administration.
Devotees from other districts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, who came to attend the Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, also praised the arrangements openly.
Balchandra Naik, who came from Nagpur, told that he along with his 12 companions had come to pay obeisance at the birth place of Baba Saheb for the first time. They had not imagined that such a grand monument would be built. From the arrangements made for the devotees, it seems that we have paid off the debt of Baba Saheb. Similarly Sunil Sirsat, Anita, Amrapali and Vijay Khade who came from Akola also appreciated the arrangements and said that they reached Ambedkar Nagar last night. On coming here, they were provided best arrangements of lodging, food and pure and cold drinking water. We did not even think that we would be treated like guests. We are overwhelmed by the arrangements. Similarly, Siddharth Patil, Pragati Chavre and Pradeep Uke who came from Amravati district also appeared satisfied. They also praised the arrangements. Students of Veterinary College, Indore, Dr. Sakshi Singh of Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Anita Bhatnagar of Khargone and Dr. Lokesh Pagare of Chhindwara said that we have seen such a beautiful and grand monument for the first time. The arrangements are also satisfactory.
