Chris Hemsworth attracts fans’ ire for posting ‘inappropriate’ picture of son: ‘This is not funny’ | Hollywood News

Actor Chris Hemsworth’s social media updates usually thrill fans, but not this time. The Avengers: Doomsday star faced heavy criticism after sharing pictures from his recent family vacation in Japan. At first look, the photo dump seemed like a typical collection featuring his wife Elsa Pataky (Fast and Furious) and their kids, until one particular slide caught everyone’s attention. The photo showed one of Chris’s children striking a cheeky hand gesture, a pose many felt was inappropriate given his young age of just 11.

Chris and Elsa Pataky had an intimate wedding in 2010 and became parents in 2015. The couple shares three kids: daughter India Rose (born May 11, 2012) and twin sons Sasha and Tran (born March 18, 2014). On Monday, the Australian actor, best known for playing Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, took to Instagram to share a “photo dump from Japan trip.” The pictures showed Chris and Elsa enjoying the slopes, while other snaps captured their kids having fun. But one particular photo was instantly slammed as ‘inappropriate’ Chris’s fans. In it, one of his sons was seen holding up his middle finger as he posed for his dad’s camera

“Makes me sad to see. Someone this young shouldn’t be making that gesture,” one user criticised the photo. “Well, I’m not a Karen, but this isn’t funny,” another wrote, adding that as a mother, it felt more than just inappropriate. One more commenter said, “Love all the pics, except the one where your kid is flipping the finger.” Another remarked, “Nice thing to be teaching kids—the finger, really.”

However, some fans defended Chris, urging critics to lighten up the mood. “Y’all are so mad over the middle finger, and it’s hilarious, lmfao,” one person joked. “Love that the finger made it into the dump,” another quipped. A third added, “My kids love giving me the middle finger salute too. It’s all about context—it doesn’t define the kind of kid they are or their behavior.”
