CM DIRECTS FOR UNORGANISED WORKERS WELFARE SCHEME TO BENEFIT ELIGIBLE BENEFICIERIES
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has issued directives to officers to ensure that benefits of Unorganized Workers Welfare Scheme are given to eligible beneficiaries soon. He has said that special Gram Sabhas should be organised on May 7 to give information about the scheme. Ministers, legislators, officials, besides the Chief Minister himself, will participate in the gram sabhas.
Chouhan was reviewing the preparations for the implementation of the Unorganized Workers Welfare Scheme here today. He said that the orders, directions and circular related to the scheme will be issued by May 2nd. Immediate implementation of the scheme should be ensured. Eligible beneficiaries should be provided benefits at the earliest. Also villagers should be informed through tom-tomming of drums so that those who have been left out for registration can register themselves during the Gram Sabha. Ward assemblies will be organized from 6.00 p.m. in the cities and gram sabhas will be organized in the villages from 5.00 p.m. May 7 in the state. The list of registered workers will be read out. In addition, the villagers will be given information about this ambitious scheme and its benefits.
It was informed that registration certificates will be distributed to registered labourers from May 15 to 30, 2018. The families of these labourers will be provided benefits like maternity assistance, free education from Class I to PhD, coaching, residential pattas and financial aid for construction of houses, employment, training, help in self-employment, treatment facility, electricity on flat rate, assistance for performing last rites etc.
