CM: Govardhan Puja worship of nature
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that Govardhan Puja is not just a ritual. It means worshiping nature, saving the environment, planting trees and preventing the cutting of trees. He said that I bow to Kanhaiya, who gave us the mantra more then five thousand years ago that worship nature and the mountains, this is Govardhan Puja in the true sense. If you want to save the earth, then be alert from now on.
Chouhan was addressing volunteers program in Ankur Abhiyan after performing Govardhan Puja in Ujjain today. Higher Education Minister Mohan Yadav, MPs VD Sharma and Anil Firazia were present. Chouhan duly offered prayers at Mahakal temple and attended Govardhan Puja near Triveni Museum. Chouhan said that the speech given by the glorious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today from the holy land of Baba Kedarnath is not just a speech but a great campaign of national reawakening. Swami Vivekananda once said that those who are blind cannot see, those who are deaf cannot hear, but I am clearly seeing that the end of the great destruction is near. Mother India is once again opening her eyes. A glorious, splendid, prosperous and thriving India will be built and the 21st century will belong to India. What the first Narendra Swami Vivekananda had said, today the second Narendra is fulfilling it. The Chief Minister said that G-20 people are now saying that we are troubled in this world. The temperature of the Earth’s surface is increasing. It is feared that if the temperature continues to rise like this and the emission of carbon gases continues, then many cities will be submerged in water after a few years and destruction will increase in the world. Chouhan said that we all have to think whether to let this earth be safe for life or not, is it not the right of the coming generations on this earth. It becomes our responsibility to leave a safe earth for the coming generations. We have to join the campaign to save the earth. Therefore, Ankur Abhiyan has been started in the state.
Chouhan said that on the day of Govardhan Puja, I call upon the people of the state to plant trees to save lives and ensure their participation in saving trees.
