CM launches 55 godowns
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that there is immense potential in cooperatives. Instead of me, the feeling of us is cooperative. Cooperative is the feeling that let all work do together and our good is in the good of all. Be it managing the challenges of corona infection or establishing livelihood and business of the people, the principle of cooperation shows the way to solution.
Chouhan was addressing the programme ‘Better Rebuilding through Cooperatives’ on the occasion of Cooperatives Day organised at International Samanvay Bhavan. Chouhan digitally dedicated 55 godowns and laid foundation stone of 144 godowns approved by Marketing Cooperative Federation and Housing Cooperative Union. The cost of these works is about Rs 77.75 crore. Cooperatives and Public Service Management Minister Arvind Singh Bhadauria, MLA Krishna Gaur, Agriculture Production Commissioner K.K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Cooperatives Ajit Kesari were also present on the occasion. Chouhan also interacted online with the members of Cold Storage Rau Indore, Pacs Borkheda Sehore, Pacs Lateri Vidisha and Pacs Borakshar Alirajpur.
Chouhan said that the history of cooperatives in Madhya Pradesh is very old. The Cooperative Bank was established in 1904 at Sehora, Jabalpur. Successful efforts have been made in the field of cooperatives in the state. Primary cooperative societies are the biggest support of farmers for fertilisers and seeds. Farmers have got a lot of relief from the facility of zero-percentage loan.
The Chief Minister said that corona control in the state was also possible through cooperative. The public-participation model made in the state is a form of cooperative. Crisis Management Committees formed from city to village and ward level took over the responsibility. The whole world saw the results of coming together for any work. The public-participation model of the state has also been appreciated by Prime Minister Modi.
Chouhan said that the efforts of one person in cooperatives take such a huge form, it was proved by the white revolution started by Kurien. Today an organisation like Amul is giving competition to the whole world. The Sanchi brand of Madhya Pradesh has also made its mark. The forest produce and herbs of the state have many possibilities including Malwa Fresh brand for oranges, Neemuch’s garlic, Burhanpur’s bananas, Amarkantak’s Gul Bakawali, Dindori’s Kodo-Kutki.
