CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan urges collectors to reduce the covid positive rate to 5% by May 31
BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has asked the collectors to bring down the positivity rate to 5% by May 31 before the unlocking process begins on June 1. The corona positivity rate is still more than 5% in a few districts in the state. It is more than 5% in Bhopal, Indore, Sagar, Ratlam and Anuppur.
According to the central governmentís guidelines, the districts where the positivity rate is more than 5% should be placed under corona curfew. Containment areas should be set up in such districts and corona protocols should be strictly followed to check the virus. The unlocking process will not begin on June 1 in districts where the positivity rate does not fall by May 31.
Chouhan has directed the collectors to keep the positive cases in complete isolation to prevent the disease from spreading to other areas. The chief minister is worried about the corona-related situation in Bhopal and Indore. In both the districts, the positivity rate is very high. Therefore, it is difficult to say what will happen to these districts on May 31.
The figure of positive cases has increased because the number of testing has gone up in these districts, the administrations of which are working towards the formula of reducing the positivity rate through testing. There is more testing in Indore. On Thursday, 8,910 swab samples were tested and 525 positive cases were found.
