Coach Brian Lara turns anchor to interview Sunrisers hero Harry Brook
When Sunrisers Hyderabad roped in Harry Brook for a whopping sum of Rs 13.25 crore there were a lot of questions about whether the England middle-order batsman was worth the heavy price tag. Sunrisers head coach Brian Lara had defended the move and said he believed in Brook’s abilities. After last evening’s star performance, Brook spoke to Lara for an interview published on IPL’s official site. Excerpts.
Lara: It must be an amazing feeling scoring your first ton in IPL 2023 in fact your first ton in IPL ..
Brook: Yeah, absolutely. Had a bit of a tough time in T20 recently and haven’t scored the runs that I would have liked to… To be able to do it in front of the (home) crowd… They were amazing.
Lara: You had a smile on your face when you went up the order. How did you feel opening the batting?
Brook: It was a good thing. A lot of people say that it is the best place to bat. You get your time and have two players in the ring at the start and to capitalise on it earlier like I did today was great for the team.
From smashing the maiden TON of #TATAIPL 2023 to lening to words of appreciation from his English teammates 💯🙌

Lara: How do you feel shaping up for the IPL atleast for the first half and then when it reaches the critical stages later on?
Brook: We got a good team and we got some great players and obviously we didn’t start the way we would have liked. But to get two wins that were comprehensive as well which is really good for us.
