IPL Retention 2025 Live Updates: All the 10 Indian Premier League franchises will declare their retentions today before 5 PM which is the deadline set the governing body. The IPL teams have the opportunity to retain up to six players ahead of the 2025 mega auction. They have a total budget of Rs 120 crore for retentions and the auction. Each team can retain a maximum of five capped players and two uncapped Indian players.
While the capped players are divided into three categories, ranging from Rs 18 crores to Rs 11 crores, an uncapped player can be retained for Rs four crores.
With the IPL set to head into another mega-auction and a fresh three-year cycle, starting with the IPL 2025 season next year, the upcoming retentions will prove to be crucial for all 10 franchises in adopting new strategies for success.
