Dharmendra appeared in over 300 films across a career spanning more than six decades. He was known for his performances in movies such as Sholay, Phool Aur Patthar, Satyakam, Chupke Chupke, Dharam Veer, and, Anupama, among many others. His powerful screen presence earned him monikers like “He-Man of Bollywood,” “Garam Dharam,” and “Action King.” Beyond acting, Dharmendra was also a film producer and briefly served as a Member of Parliament. In 2012, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third-highest civilian award.

Dharmendra married his first wife, Parkash Kaur, in 1954, and the couple has four children together, Sunny Deol, Bob Deol, Vijeta Deol, and Ajeeta Deol. In 1979, he married actor Hema Malini, with whom he has two daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.
