On Friday, YRF unveiled the teaser of Saiyaara, marking the debut of Ananya Panday’s cousin, Ahaan Panday. The teaser instantly reminded many of the time Ahaan wowed the internet with his dance moves at ser Alanna Panday’s wedding.
Directed Mohit Suri, the director behind films like Aashiqui 2 and Malang, the 1-minute 15-second teaser showcases Ahaan Panday portraying a brooding rockstar, with scenes highlighting his intense chemry with Big Girls Don’t Cry fame Aneet Padda. While the teaser hints at a passionate love story followed a heartbreak and redemption, a poetic voiceover Aneet can be heard explaining the meaning of the word Saiyaara.

She says, “Mujhe tasalli dede jo, who shabd udhaaran dhund raha hai, ek sitara dhund raha hai, dil se yaara dhund raha hai. Saiyaara matlab, taaro mein ek tanha taara. Khud jalke jo roshan karde jag yeh sara. Woh awara dhund raha hai. Dil se yaara dhund raha hai. (A wandering star, symbolising a guiding yet unattainable presence).”

The teaser drew a flurry of responses, with many recalling the time Ahaan Panday went viral for dancing to Shah Rukh Khan’s “I Am The Best”.
