DC vs RCB tip off XI: Kedar Jadhav to play, Vyshak back into the mix, Marsh to replace Rossouw
High-flying Royal Challengers Bangalore take one revitalized Delhi Capitals on Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Both sides coming on back-off unlikely victories defending small totals will be high on confidence.
Faf du Plessis-led RCB has screamed mediocrity with the bat this season. Apart from familiar faces Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell and the skipper himself rest of the batting order has offered neither any contributions nor any resance when one of the trio has been batting well at one end. The drop in form of Dinesh Karthik from last season to this season has been appalling. However, despite the underperforming batting line-up their bowling has been good. Mohammed Siraj with the new ball has been exceptional this season. His early wickets in the tournament have helped RCB to restrict the opposition.
Delhi Capitals on the other hand, after losing five of their first games have won three out of their last four and are on a decent run. However, once again similar to RCB not too many of their batters have performed to their potential. David Warner and Axar Patel have dragged this batting line up to par scores on the given day. Their bowlers as a collective have bowled out of their skins in all the victories of the Capitals.
Here’s the tip-off ahead of the DC vs RCB match:
Kedar Jadhav to make his debut in the season
The injury of David Willey might be a blessing in disguise for RCB. They have a chance to strengthen their middle order bringing in Kedhar Jadhav who has been part of the Marathi Commentary box this season. His inclusion in the side might free up Kohli and du Plessis to free up at the top of the order not worrying about the brittleness of the middle.
Vijaykumar Vyshak to replace Karn Sharma
The leg-spinner had a splendid game against the Lucknow Super Giants defending a small total. He troubled the batters with his guile. However, the dimensions of the Arun Jaitley are quite small. Hence the RCB think tank may opt for the horses for course strategy and go for the medium pace of Vyshak. The young seamer in his short IPL career has shown excellent control over his bowling variations and temperament.
Mitchell Marsh in for Rilee Rossouw
David Warner said his fellow Aussie Marsh was sick in the last game. Roussouw who came in place of him was a victim of brilliant Mohammed Shami spell. He could not take the opportunity in the last game. Marsh’s form with the bat has been poor this season as well. However, he gives the side an extra dimension with his bowling. On a small ground once again Warner might not be able to get the full quota of his spin overs and Marsh with the ball can come in handy. If he can hit form with the bat Capitals can be unstoppable on the night.
