“Death Overs are more entertaining than powerplay”: Md Siraj

Md Siraj has been striking consently in the powerplay overs, but reckons death overs bowling is more interesting. When asked on the RCB Insider show, he said, “Death over bowling is more entertaining than powerplay. Everyone comes prepared to smack the bowler, so more challenging.”
He reckoned focus on fitness has also improved his bowling. “Season going well. I’m focused on my fitness. Can consently bowl in same areas.”
On his experience of bowling in England and at Lord’s he said, “In India Test matches are not valued so much, they only want entertainment. There in England, people arrive early, carry individual scorecard to keep score. Lord’s has a box where only suited folk are allowed.”
On a lighter note, when asked about what he finds irritating, he would say Glenn Maxwell. “Maxwell is irritating. When I bowl, he keeps coming and giving me suggestions so that irritates me. Why ruin my preparation!”
The season has been good with the wicket topping purple cap coming his way. “First time I’m wearing purple cap. First year I was in Sunrisers Hyderabad I saw teammate wearing it, so I had wished to wear it. Now I’m happy.”
On his musical tastes, it’s brooding songs for Siraj. “Sad songs motivate me, so I len to them,” he would tell the RCB Insider.

The backstory to him being called Miya Magic had AB de Villiers annoint him so. “First time I got selected to the Indian team so everyone would call me Miya Miya, so AB de Villiers called me Magic for a fiery spell against KKR in Abu Dhabi. So Miya Magic,” said the Hyderabadi.
