Centre responsible for fertilizer crisis: Congress

The Congress on Monday said the BJP raising the issue of fertilizer shortage unmasked its dual character and said the problem was a creation of the Central and not the Chhattisgarh government.

In a statement, the PCC Communication wing said the protest staged by the BJP on Monday was a complete failure.

The Congress said the BJP blaming the state government for the shortage of fertilizer was annoying.

“The Union government is responsible for the supply of fertilizer and the shortage is because of not getting consistent supply from the Centre”, the party said.

The Centre had adopted a step motherly attitude towards non-BJP ruled state and less than 50 percent of the required fertilizer quota had reached to such states, it said.
