India vs Pakan Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 report card: Tons from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav’s 5 wickets help IND sink PAK | Cricket News

India vs Pakan Asia Cup 2023 report card: Centuries from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul guided India to a mammoth 356/2 against Pakan in the reserve day of their Asia Cup match on Monday. After that, Kuldeep Yadav spun a web around the Pakan batters and finished with 5/25 as India defeated their arch rivals.
Earlier, Kohli and Rahul shared an unbeaten 233-run stand off 194 balls after India started the reserve day on 147 for two.  Intermittent rain had pushed Sunday’s marquee game to the reserve day after India reached 147 for two in 24.1 overs. Before the weather played spoilsport on Sunday, Kohli and Rahul were batting on 8 and 17 respectively after openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) struck fine half-centuries.
Here’s a quick form-check of Team India after the game:
Rohit Sharma
The Indian skipper started slowly but eventually ramped up the aggression as he reached 50 with a boundary as the Pakan bowlers had no answer to the veteran batter’s strokes. He ultimately couldn’t add much to that as he was caught Faheem Ashraf off Shahab khan’s delivery.
Shubman Gill
After a not so ideal outing against Pakan in their previous encounter where Gill was very slow to get off the mark, the young batter went hell for leather against the famed Pakan pace battery in this match as he brought up his 50 in a flash. But he could not convert his good start into a big innings as he was caught out Agha Salman off Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Virat Kohli
Kohli started his innings slowly and steadily, both on Sunday as well as Monday with an odd boundary here and there. The former India captain would grow in stature as the match progressed and he ultimately brought up his 47th ODI century as the Pakan bowlers had no answer to his onslaught.
KL Rahul
Coming back from injury, Rahul looked in goo touch , especially when he pulled Shaheen Shah Afridi for his first boundary of the match. He was equally confident on the reserve day as well as he kept timing the ball immaculately and brought up his 6th ODI century.
Jasprit Bumrah
Bumrah had a quiet start to the match but kept it tight in the middle as the Pakan batters were careful in navigating his swing and pace.  They could not keep the pacer at bay as he snapped up the first Pakan wicket when he sent back Imam-ul-Haq for just 9 runs.
Mohammed Siraj
Siraj was the only Indian bowler to not get a wicket in the initial stages but he was pretty economical, giving away just 23 runs from the his first 5 overs.

Shardul Thakur
As he does quite so often for India, Thakur struck at a n opportune time as he sent back the dangerous Mohammad Rizwan fir just 2 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav
After Fakhar Zaman was dropped off his first over., Yadav did not seem perturbed. He kept his chin up and continued doing his job before getting his man in his second over. He would add Agha Salman, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf and Iftikhar Ahmed to his l of victims to finish the match with 5/25
