Competing alongside her in this category are Megan Park for My Old Ass, RaMell Ross for Nickel Boys, Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel for Armand, and Sean Wang for Dìdi. All We Imagine As Light is also being considered for Oscars 2025, voting for which opened on January 8. The nominations for Academy Awards, originally supposed to be announced on January 17, has now moved to January 19 due to the devastating fire in Los Angeles.
In the Directorial Achievement in Feature Film category, filmmakers like Jacques Audiard (Emilia Pérez) and Edward Berger (Conclave) and more have earned nominations for the coveted honour. This recognition is often seen as a stepping stone to the Oscars, as the DGA Award for Directorial Achievement in Feature Film has horically been a reliable predictor of success in the Academy Awards’ Best Director category.
