The order came after Paliwal, who appeared before the court for hearing in a criminal revision appeal filed in 2024 Chhindwara residents Rajhans Bagade and Vijay, started arguing over delay in the hearing the case and said the case should be transferred to another bench. According to the order, Paliwal said: “This drama has been going on in this court for the past four hours and I am watching it. Judges go to other places and seek appointment of new judges but look at the condition of the judges, what happened in Delhi (referring to alleged cash discovery row involving former Delhi high court judge justice Yashwant Varma) should also be seen. This pressure is increasing, and we are being harassed. I will go this evening and speak to (chief miner) Mohan Yadav. This case has come up 20 times, and it was finally led today with great difficulty. I do not want to argue my case in this chaos; it should be sent to another bench.” Paliwal declined to comment on the incident after the court order. According to the high court’s website, Paliwal’s case had previously come up on January 8. According to the order passed at the time, the case came up before justice Devnarayan Mishra who admitted the appeal for hearing and issued orders for requisitioning the records.
