‘Do 200 pushups every day, sadak par daudo’: Ravi Kishan shares lifestyle habits, vouches ‘zindagi badlegi’ | Fitness News

Actor and politician Ravi Kishan suggested a few lifestyle tweaks to help you achieve your fitness goals. “Aap roz gym jao. Kuch nahi hai…agar gym ke paise nahi hai… Sadak par daudo (Run on the road if you don’t have money for the gym). Do 200 pushups every day, not even 100. Run for 5 or at least 3 kms,” the Laapataa Ladies actor told Raj Shamani on his podcast recently.
The 56-year-old continued, “If nothing, you can have soaked black chana. Workout every day. Rise before sunrise. See the sun. I am putting this on record, your life will change. Zindagi badlegi hi badlegi. Main likhkar deta hun aapke iss manch par. Yeh roz karna hai. (Your life will definitely change. I can give it in writing. You have to do this every day. Do some prayer and meditation. And give your best in what you do.)”
Dr Amit Saraf, Director of Internal Medicine at Jupiter Hospital, Thane, concurred that many believe change demands a great deal of effort or resources; yet, the fact is that small, consent habits hold the ability to reboot body and mind. “Routine exercise, waking up early, and consuming simple, wholesome food can leave a long-term impression on energy, concentration, and overall well-being,” said Dr Saraf.
Are running and bodyweight workouts sufficient to remain fit?

Absolutely, asserted Dr Saraf. “You don’t necessarily require a pricey gym membership. Running three to five kilometres every day makes the heart fit, enhances stamina, and clears the mind. Even as simple as push-ups, if practised regularly, they tone muscles, enhance posture, and create discipline. Consency, not luxury, is the point,” said Dr Saraf.
What is the role of food in this change?
Food is energy, and opting for straightforward, unprocessed food does count. “Something as simple as overnight-soaked chickpeas in the morning can increase protein levels, ease digestion, and enhance satiety levels all day long. With so much processed food around us, going back to basic grains, pulses, and natural foods can do miracles for well-being,” said Dr Saraf.

Why is waking up early given so much importance?
Dr Saraf said rising early before dawn synchronises your natural body clock with nature.Story continues below this ad
“It gives an advantage in the day, increases focus, and creates space in the day for exercise, mindfulness, or simply to appreciate silence. Noticing the sun rise can be a grounding practice in and of itself to begin the day on a good foot,” said Dr Saraf.
What must one remember when embarking on this journey?
Begin small but remain consent. “Even if you cannot run five kilometres immediately, start with three. If 200 push-ups feel too challenging, start with 20 and work your way up to that goal. The goal is not perfection; it is time in. When lifestyle habits have become an integral part of you, change is imminent,” said Dr Saraf.
