The actor has made it clear that she prefers to keep personal details off social media, choosing to share only what truly matters to her. “I am very much aware of social media and of the times we are living in. I also have a social media account, but it’s a very conscious decision that I don’t want to tell you what I ate for breakfast, I don’t want to tell you that I got injured at the gym yesterday, I don’t want to tell you anything.” Yami shared in an interview with Instant Bollywood.
She added that it is not about hiding things but questioning the need to share every detail of life. “Not because I don’t want to tell you, but it’s like who am I addressing? What is it going to do? Of course, there is going to be another story for different portals to pick up, but is it necessary? Do I want to be so accessible? Do I want people to come with preconceived notions about me. You know, I don’t want to,” she said.
