‘Dues should be collected in phased manner, says Nath
The previous Shivraj Singh Chouhan Government had not emphasised on collecting electricity bills from consumers using power which resulted in the continuous increase in dues and reached to a massive
level. This has proved unjust to the consumers paying electricity bills timely; the dues from consumers should be collected in phased manner said, Chief Minister Kamal Nath.
The state government has to collect dues of Rs 14500 crores from energy department of the state which are dues from the users consuming electricity; highest due is Rs 8000 which is to be collected from consumers of commercial connection.
Kamal Nath led government is trying to put economy back on track which has impacted due to the vote bank politics by earlier Shivraj led government. To achieve this maximizing the revenue is the utmost priority of the government.
At present the dues on Energy Department are of Rs 14500 crores and state government has geared up for collecting these dues from the consumers. Officials have been instructed by CM Kamal Nath to collect dues in phased manner.
The domestic consumer dues are Rs 3800 crores, Industrial consumer dues are Rs 1000 and Agriculture -Pump consumer dues are Rs 1700 crores.
In the state there are 15644000 consumers of electricity. The domestic consumer are 1.15 crore, Agriculture –Pump consumers are 30 lakh, commercial consumers are 10.2 lakh and Industrial consumers are 1.24 lakh.
