The Indian women’s cricket team scripted hory on Sunday as they picked up their first-ever ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 trophy. Their horic win got the entire nation cheering, while many got emotional. Bollywood stars also took to social media to praise the Women in Blue for their remarkable performance.
Actor Priyanka Chopra took to Instagram to share videos from the match and congratulated the girls. She wrote, “I grew up watching the heroes in blue… tonight, they all look like her. World champions. Congratulations team India 🫡.”
Kareena Kapoor also shared a video of the match’s final moment on her Instagram Stories and admitted that she got emotional after the win. She wrote, “Still crying tears of joy,” adding a heart emoji.
Anushka Sharma, actor and wife of Indian cricketer Virat Kohli, also lauded the Indian women’s cricket team. She wrote, “You champions!! SUCH A momentous achievement.” Kiara Advani called it “an incredible moment” and congratulated “our Women in Blue.”

Shraddha Kapoor compared the Indian women’s team’s victory to India’s iconic 1983 win when the men in blue lifted the World Cup trophy for the first time.
