Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat box office collection Day 4: Actors Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa have surprised both the trade and industry insiders with the unexpected success of his latest film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. Directed Milan Milap Zaveri, the film has been steadily gaining traction at the box office. According to early estimates industry tracker Sacnilk, the film collected approximately Rs 5.5 crore on Day 4 of its release, taking its total domestic collection to Rs 28.25 crore. While this marks a slight 8.33% dip compared to its Day 3 earnings of Rs 6 crore, the drop was largely anticipated given that Friday was a working day.
What’s notable is that this decline is far smaller than that of another major release of the week, Ayushmann Khurrana’s much-anticipated horror comedy Thamma, which saw a sharp fall of around 26.54% from Day 3 to Day 4 and slipped into single-digit collections. In contrast, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has held its ground impressively. In fact, despite its limited release, the film continues to perform well in terms of occupancy. On Day 4, the film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 18.56%. The Delhi-NCR region led with 613 shows and an 18% occupancy rate, followed Mumbai, which regered 16% across 333 shows. Interestingly, smaller centers have been driving the film’s performance, with Jaipur (25%), Lucknow (25.33%), and Bhopal (15.67%) showing strong footfalls despite fewer screenings.

The film’s performance is particularly impressive when compared with several other releases that had higher budgets, wider releases, and more prominent faces. For instance, Loveyapa, starring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, managed only Rs 5.1 crore in its first four days, while Dharma Productions’ Mr & Mrs Mahi collected only Rs 19 crore in the same period. Even another Maddock Films’ horror comedy Munjya, considered one of the surprise hits of last the year, earned Rs 23.25 crore in its first four days, way below than Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
It is also outperforming another major “underdog” success of last year, Kunal Kemmu’s Madgaon Express, which could only earn Rs 9.65 crore in four days. In comparison to several big-ticket releases and their four day collections, such as Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan (Rs 22 crore), Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein (Rs 14.05 crore), and Alia Bhatt’s Jigra (Rs 18.25 crore), Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat continues to show remarkable resilience. With strong word-of-mouth and solid weekday hold, all eyes are now on the weekend.
