Ekta Kapoor wonders about the best weight loss solution: ‘Ozempic, Mounjaro or anti-inflammatory diet’ | Health News

Producer Ekta Kapoor recently addressed her weight gain and wondered how to lose some kilos. “Been in Chennai. I have some time. What do I do? I have gained a lot of weight. Should I do an anti-inflammatory diet, or should I do mounjaro or ozempic? Or all of the above? Or leave it? Hum bade hi ache lagte hai ((I look good when I’m big),” Kapoor said during an Instagram live chat.
During the conversation, she added that representation of people in their 30s and 40s dealing with metabolism issues is necessary on shows. “Also, was talking to this actor for a new season of a franchise of mine. Not Naagin. I told her that she needed to gain weight healthily because a representation of healthy people was necessary. Like women above 30 or 40 with metabolism issues related to age, hormones…,” Kapoor, 49, continued.

Taking a cue from her dilemma, let’s find out what is better for your weight loss goals?
Deciding between an anti-inflammatory diet and weight loss drugs like Ozempic or Mounjaro depends on your goals, lifestyle, and health needs, stressed Kanikka Malhotra, consultant dietician and certified diabetes educator. “An anti-inflammatory diet focuses on whole, nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fatty fish, nuts, and healthy fats while avoiding processed foods and added sugars,” said Malhotra.
An anti-inflammatory diet focuses on eating foods that help reduce chronic inflammation linked to conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders.
Malhotra stated that reducing inflammation may also improve your metabolism and reduce the risk of obesity-related problems.

This approach not only supports weight loss but also improves overall health reducing inflammation, which can make it harder to lose weight. “On the other hand, medications like Ozempic or Mounjaro are designed to help with weight loss curbing appetite and regulating blood sugar levels. While effective for many people, these drugs can have side effects and require careful monitoring a doctor,” noted Malhotra.
If you’re looking for a sustainable, long-term solution that benefits your overall health, “an anti-inflammatory diet is a great choice”, shared Malhotra. “However, if you’re struggling with significant weight issues or medical conditions like diabetes, medications might be worth considering under medical supervision,” said Malhotra.
