Elon Musk has launched a new online encyclopedia called Grokipedia, which he says will challenge Wikipedia, according to the Associated Press (AP).
Musk wrote on social media that “Grokipedia.com version 0.1 is now live” and said “Version 1.0 will be 10X better,”. He said the goal of the site is “the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.”

The billionaire has repeatedly criticised Wikipedia. He has said the platform is full of “propaganda” and has urged people not to donate to it, AP said. In September, he announced that his AI company xAI was developing Grokipedia.

The Grokipedia website currently has a simple design with a search bar for users to look up topics. It says it contains 885,279 articles. comparison, Wikipedia ls more than 7 million articles in English.
Like Wikipedia, users can search for a wide range of subjects such as Taylor Swift, the World Series or Buckingham Palace. But it is not yet clear how Grokipedia’s pages are created or edited. AP said reports suggest the site relies on the same xAI model used in Musk’s Grok chatbot. Some entries appear to be adapted from Wikipedia.
Grokipedia’s article about Wikipedia says the older site has “systemic ideological biases particularly a left-leaning slant in coverage of political figures and topics,” according to AP.
