Virat Kohli reveals his new Yo-Yo score ahead of Asia Cup 2023

Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers going around and shows no signs of slowing down, either.
The 35-year-old, after the completion of the Yo-Yo test on Thursday, posted a picture on his social media and wrote, “The happiness of finishing the yo-yo test between the dreaded cones.”
The star scored 17.2, with the standard being 16 for all cricketers. In fact, Kohli scored 19 when he was captain of the side.
The Yo-Yo test was first introduced to the Indian cricket team during Kohli’s fitness-focused captaincy reign.
Developed Danish football physiolog Jens Bangsbo, it is a “maximal aerobic endurance fitness test, involving running between markers placed 20 metres apart, at increasing speeds, until exhaustion.”

The most commonly used version involves running between two markers 20 metres apart, following audio cues dictating the required running speed. After each 40 metre run, the participants have an active break of 10 seconds before rerunning 40 metres.
At regular intervals, the required running speed increases. The test continues until the participants can no longer keep up with the necessary pace.
The Indian cricket squad assembled for a preparatory camp at Alur, Bangalore, from Thursday ahead of the Asia Cup in Sri Lanka; top players who were given a 13-day fitness programme will undergo a complete body test, including blood. Most Read

Trainers will test their fitness and those who don’t meet standards will be pulled up as the BCCI wants to avoid taking a chance in a World Cup year.
Players who returned from the West Indies tour and are not playing in the ongoing three-match T20 series against Ireland were asked to follow the 13-day programme.
This includes captain Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj
