Fans flock to greet Yogi in Narmada Seva Yatra
Bhopal: Thousands of people gathered on the banks of river Narmada on Friday to catch a glimpse of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Yogi, along with his Madhya Pradesh counterpart took part in the ongoing Narmada Sewa Yatra in Dindori district.
The saffron-clad Yogi with his invincible style won over the hearts of the people in MP by agreeing to accept their offer of wearing the traditional baiga feather cap and shawl amid melodious folk songs. People of all communities and ages took part in the campaign. They hailed the UP chief minister as he marched toward the dais with a saffron flag. Many in the crowd, including women, chanted ‘Yogiji’ ‘Yogiji’ as he made his way to the stage.
Women carrying kalash on their heads welcomed Yogi, who reached the yatra venue a in strongly secured cavalcade. The Madhya Pradesh government made special arrangements for Yogi’s security and additional force from nearby districts was deployed in the area.
Villagers were seen waiting for Yogi since morning. They were seen reciting devotional songs praising the river Narmada. They also raised slogans for the conservation the river.
Surprised to see such a large crowd and enthusiasm of the participants, Yogi called upon the people to support Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s initiatives. Yogi also praised the schemes launched by the BJP government in MP to help the poor and marginalised sections of society. He said Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s dedication is laudable and must be recognised.
In his four hour stay in Mandla and Umaria districts, Yogi also visited the residence of Union minister of state for health, Faggan Singh Kulaste, to wish his daughter who is getting married. He also met local leaders of Mandla and Umaria and appreciated the initiatives taken by the party to conserve the river.
Yogi hailed the saints, who took part in the Narmada yatra. He made a special mention of Swami Akhileshanand and Uttam Swami in his address.
