Farmers agitation reach Bhopal, 1400 litres of milk spilled on Khajuri road

BHOPAL: Flames of the statewide agitation by farmers reached the door-steps of state capital on Sunday. Four men intercepted a milk supplier and spilled 1400 litres of milk from his tanker on road on Bhopal- Sehore road late on Saturday.

Police said the accused are yet to be identified. Station house officer of Khajuri police station, Suryakant Awasthi said the accused were probably linked to the farmer protests and wanted to stop the milk tanker from reaching the city and spilled the milk on road. The tanker belonged to Dugdh Sangh. Ishawar Deen Sahu the driver lodged a complaint. Incident took place late in the night, but was reported on Sunday morning.

Complainant stated he was at Teelakhedi area and was coming towards Bhopal after collecting milk when a few people on bike intercepted him. When he stopped, they asked him that the tanker cannot not go any further.

Police said the complainant left the tanker and went to village for help. However, when he returned after sometime with another driver, about 1,400 litres of milk was spilled on road after which he approached the police and got a case registered.

The complainant did not know the accused and nor could he note the bike’s registration number on which the accused came, the police said, adding that matter remains under investigation.
