Former Nepal PM asks why Army could not protect govt secretariat | World News

Former Prime Miner Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda Friday asked why the Nepali Army did not protect the government secretariat and other public properties.
Talking to media, Prachanda, who was out of the Army’s protective custody, thanked them for keeping the top leaders of Nepal’s three major political parties safe.
In response to the CPN-MC leader’s comments, the Nepal Army promptly issued a statement, saying it is objectively assessing critical appraisal of the Army’s role and responding in due course.

The leaders had been taken into protective custody the army as criminals, some of them belonging to major political parties, infiltrated into the Gen Z protests on September 7 and 8.
The protests against corruption and the K P Sharma Oli government’s social media ban caused Oli’s resignation as PM and former Chief justice Sushila Karki succeeding him.
