From Virat Kohli to Steve Smith, full l of youngest Indian Premier League skippers

Youngest Captains in IPL All Time: All-rounder Riyan Parag will lead Rajasthan Royals for the first three matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, starting on Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad in his home town Guwahati. The decision came after Sanju Samson failed to fully recover from a finger fracture and has yet to receive a clearance from the BCCI.
However, Samson will play these games for RR. It is understood that the BCCI’s medical team has not cleared Samson yet for wicket-keeping duties, limiting his presence on the field for the Royals.
Parag, when he steps into the field against SRH on Sunday, will be the fourth youngest player to lead a team in IPL. At 23 years and 133 days, Parag is fourth on the l, topped former India captain Virat Kohli. Virat led Royal Challengers Bengaluru for the first time in 2011 against RR when he was 22 years and 187 days old.
