Gain goals of self-employment schemes as mission: CM
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that bankers should work in mission mode to achieve the goals of self-employment schemes and pace up development. He also emphasized on women empowerment through self-employment.
Chouhan was presiding over the 181st meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee at his residence. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Finance Manoj Govil, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manish Rastogi, Commissioner Industries and Secretary MSME P. Narhari besides several bank officers were present. Executive Director Central Bank Rajeev Puri joined the meeting virtually.
The Chief Minister said that maximum efforts should be made to benefit educated unemployed youth under Mukhya Mantri Udyami Kranti Yojana. Poor and needy youth should get its benefit. While reviewing the progress of Pradhan Mantri Swanidhi Yojana, he said that the installment of the amount given to the beneficiary under the scheme should be paid regularly, so that the amount of the next installment could be released.
Chouhan said that Chief Minister’s Rural Path Vendors Scheme brought a change in the lives of the people. Under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, this year 28.72 lakh beneficiaries were disbursed a loan of Rs 16,302 crores. He said that the process of loan approval should be made simple, so that people do not face any problem. Instructions were given to run awareness campaigns to give benefits of various self-employment schemes.
Chouhan said that no stone should be left unturned in fulfilling the goals of National Rural Livelihood Mission. Complete the target in mission mode. He expressed dissatisfaction over the low targets being achieved by the banks. The Chief Minister said that it is our goal to empower women by connecting them with self-employment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also giving constant emphasis on women empowerment.
Chouhan told to complete the target of National Urban Livelihood Mission in this financial year. He congratulated HDFC Bank for doing a good job. The Chief Minister said that provision of KCC to cattle rearers and fish farmers should be speeded up. Try to bring new revolution in milk and fish production. National Livestock Mission is very important, hence maximum number of should be approved. Chouhan said that the targets of banks should be fixed keeping in mind the national average. Don’t lag behind in it.
Chouhan also reviewed the annual credit plan. He said that loans should be sanctioned by focusing on the primary sector. The poor should get maximum benefits. The Chief Minister instructed the bankers to increase the CD ratio. There are 7 districts with less than 40 percent CD ratio in the state.
