Galaxy A80 goes on pre-order; Samsung announces cash-back and no-cost EMI offers

Earlier last week, South Korean smartphone maker, Samsung, launched the Galaxy A80 in India. After months of being teased, the phone was silently launched in India making it the latest entrant to Samsung’s A lineup of phones in the country.

While the phone brought with itself impressive specs, including a rotating triple camera set-up with 48-Megapixel lens along with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and Snapdragon 730G Octa-Core processor, its price left fanboys a little disappointed.

The phone has now been announced to go on sale with the company taking pre-orders for it and offerings some interesting deals and offers. The Galaxy A80 has been priced at Rs 47,990 in India with Samsung offering an assured 5 percent cash back on the Samsung Galaxy A80, alongside no-cost EMI.

There’s also an offer that provides screen replacement at a discounted price in the future. The phone is a Flipkart exclusive and the platform has already started to accept pre-orders for the phone with some additional offers and discounts on the Samsung Galaxy A80 prior to its first sale.

Galaxy A80 will go on sale from August 1 across all retail stores, e-Shop, Samsung Opera House and all major leading online channels. It will be available in three beautiful and stunning colours- Ghost White, Phantom Black and Angel Gold.

Samsung Galaxy A80 Specifications

The Galaxy A80 sports a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED, New Infinity Display which gets a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The Galaxy A80 sports a main 48-megapixel camera with an aperture value of f/2.0, and the secondary camera is an 8-megapixel ultrawide shooter with f/2.2 aperture value. The camera on the Galaxy A80 is a slide-out and simultaneously rotating camera module. There is no specific selfie shooter but a single dual camera shooter. The module also gets a Time of Flight sensor.

The camera module is quite innovative and is being touted by Samsung to make the Galaxy A80 the “world’s first smartphone with a 48-megapixel rotating camera. When users select the selfie mode in the camera app, the three cameras automatically pop-up from the back of the phone and rotate. Galaxy A80 is capable of shooting Ultra Wide videos with Super Steady Mode and has a 3D Depth camera offering Live Focus videos.

The Galaxy A80 is powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset paired to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The A80 operates on Android Pie-based One UI and interestingly does not get any expandable storage facility. The Galaxy A80 features an in-display fingerprint scanner and will be available in Ghost White, Phantom Black and Angel Gold. The Galaxy A80 gets an all-glass body with a metal frame.
