Sunita Ahuja loves Govinda till last breath, but cannot tolerate emotional cheating: ‘Don’t do physical cheating either’ | Bollywood News

Just a few months ago, reports claiming that veteran star Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja were heading for a divorce were everywhere. But the couple quickly put all speculation to rest when they appeared together during the Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, bringing much relief to fans and well-wishers who had been worried about the state of their marriage. Now, in a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Sunita has shared her candid thoughts on a debate that has been trending online: what hurts more, emotional cheating or physical cheating? The discussion was sparked a segment on the chat show Two Much with Kajol & Twinkle.
When asked which betrayal is more painful, Sunita Ahuja said, “Emotional. Aap emotionally ek insaan ko pyaar karte ho phir baad mein aap usko cheat karte ho. That’s not right. Kyunki dekhiye main bohot emotional hun. I love Govinda to my death. I’ll tell you. Emotionally mujhe koi bhi dhokha de, chahe mere bacche ho, mera pati ho, I get very hurt. Emotionally kisi ko mat karo, it’s not good yaar.” (Emotional. When you love someone emotionally and then you cheat on them, that’s not right. You see, I’m a very emotional person. I love Govinda till my last breath. Let me tell you this: if anyone betrays me emotionally, whether it’s my children or my husband, it hurts me deeply. Don’t hurt someone emotionally; it’s not good.)
When asked if physical cheating is acceptable, Sunita immediately denied: “You shouldn’t do that either! Why do you need to do either of these things? It’s not right. I feel all this is not good. Our parents didn’t teach us these values.” When asked about the growing acceptance of cheating in modern relationships, Sunita shared her disagreement, “But it’s wrong. Look, this is what we call the dark age, Kalyug. This is the Kalyug we’re living in.”

In an earlier interaction with Pinkvilla, Sunita had also reflected on the makes Govinda made in their marriage. “I always say it’s okay to commit makes in one’s youth. I’ve also committed many. Govinda has definitely committed many. But once you grow older and have kids, you should keep a check on yourself. You should fulfill your responsibilities before committing any more makes,” she said. During the same conversation, she subtly referred to Govinda’s alleged affairs, questioning, “Why makes even then? You have a nice family. You have such a beautiful wife and kids. Then, why?” Sunita explained that her outlook differs from Govinda’s because of how deeply she is attached to their children:
“See, he’s a hero. What can I even say? Heroes spend more time with heroines than us. He’d go for a shoot for 40 days, and I stayed back home. But then you have to be a very strong woman to be a hero’s wife. Your heart should be made of stone. This is what I’ve realized after 38 years of marriage. There was so much love in the youth that I didn’t consider anything else,” she added.
Recently, Govinda was hospitalized after experiencing dizziness brought on overwork and severe fatigue. He was soon discharged and is currently under medication.
