Govinda’s wife Sunita compares herself to Darr’s Shah Rukh Khan, says she loves the same way: ‘I’m possessive, can’t share my husband’ | Bollywood News

Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja have been married for over 38 years and in a recent interview, Sunita was asked about what is still keeping their relationship intact. Sunita led three things that are extremely essential in maintaining a loving relationship, and then compared her love for Govinda to that of Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Darr. In the film Darr, SRK played a stalker who seems to be dealing with severe mental health issues as he kills people to be with the woman he loves, played Juhi Chawla.
Sunita, in a chat with Instant Bollywood, was asked how they were still maintaining their relationship after 38 years, and she said, “It’s faith, love and kids.” She added, “It’s very necessary to have faith in each other. And love… I have faith in our love.” Sunita then compared herself to Shah Rukh’s character and said, “I love like… you remember how Shah Rukh Khan loved in Darr, like that madness for love. I am also very possessive. I don’t like that my husband and my kids… I can’t share them. I am very possessive.” She added, “There should be some possessiveness or you can’t it love, then it’s just a compromise.”
In the same chat, Sunita Ahuja shared that she met Govinda when she was still a teenager and fell in love with him. She said that her mother wanted her to be a housewife, and discouraged her from pursuing a career in films even though she received some offers to be a lead actor as a teenager. “My mom always wanted me to be a good housewife because she was the same way. She loved Govinda a lot. She wanted me to get married, have kids. She said ‘What will you gain becoming an actress?’ So I lened to my mom. Now, it’s been 38 years,” she said.

Earlier this year, there were rumours that Sunita and Govinda might be heading towards a divorce but Sunita shut down these rumours. This came after Govinda’s lawyer, Lalit Bindal, said that Sunita had actually filed for a divorce previously but the couple made up a few months later.
Prior to this, in a chat with Hindi Rush, Sunita Ahuja had implied that the couple was now living separately. This possibly gave birth to rumours that they were heading towards divorce.
