Gujarat mein hoon, mera khana nahi milega na: Mohammed Shami cracks up Ravi Shastri with post-match comments

Mohammed Shami would take the lead in the purple cap race once again on Monday as he regered another four-wicket haul in his side’s 34-run win against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Post match, the right arm quick would get the former India coach Ravi Shastri laughing, on-air, in a light exchange.
Shastri, who’s part of the Star Sports broadcast crew, would ask of Shami what the reason behind his recent fitness was. To which, Shami responded, “Gujarat mein hoon, mera khana nahi milega na (I’m in Gujarat, so will not get what I want).”
He would add, “Lekin Gujrati food enjoy kar raha hun (However, I’m enjoying Gujarati cuisine)”.
On the changes he’s made to his bowling during this season in the IPL, Shami said, “I’ve been focusing on hitting the ball into the pitch, bowl to my strengths and on good lines. I’ve been trying to hit similar lines and make use of the new ball. That’s always given me success. The wicket was the same as that in the last game. Mohit coming in has helped go well in the middle overs, given we have Rashid and Noor as well.”
In the ongoing season, Shami has notched 23 wickets at an average of 16.70, consing of two 4-fers.

After 13 league games, Gujarat sit atop the points table with nine wins and four losses and will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in their final league stage game on Sunday, May 21.
