Vance says no conversation between US, China on strategic deal on Taiwan | World News

The United States and China have not had a conversation about a strategic deal on Taiwan, US Vice President JD Vance said on Wednesday.
Vance told an event hosted the Munich Security Conference in Washington that the Trump adminration was working to rebalance global trade in the interest of US workers and manufacturers, and that meant China would have to take steps to boost domestic demand.
He said the rebalancing would also require cutting more trade deals with “some of our friends in Europe but also with some of our more adversarial nations,” adding that the goal was to do this while maintaining “at least an open dialog with the (People’s Republic of China).”
