Watch: Jasprit Bumrah picks up two wickets in his first over on his comeback | Cricket News

Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah made a resounding comeback to international cricket as he picked up two wickets in the first over of the innings against Ireland in the first T20I at The Village in Dublin on Friday.
The 29-year-old started off with a loosener as he bowled a half-volley on the leg stump to Andrew Balbirine which the batter clipped for a boundary. He then followed it up with a sharp incoming delivery which pitched outside the off-stump to which the batter had no answers to as he got an inside edge and chopped the ball onto the stumps.
Later in the over, Lorcan Tucker tried to play a scoop shot off the fifth ball which he mimed and ended up giving a simple catch to wicketkeeper Sanju Samson. The bowler also bowled his trademark yorker off the fourth ball of the over with accuracy and precision.

“I feel good, looking forward to playing some cricket. You realise what you were missing, very happy to be back. We expect nothing short of a fight from Ireland. As a fast bowler, I hope the pitch does something,” the Indian captain said at the toss.
The speedster has been recuperating after a back surgery and it was feared that the stress reaction in his lower back could have assumed career-threatening proportions.

India also handed debuts to Prasidh Krishna, who himself was coming back after an injury layoff and Rinku Singh who had a brilliant campaign for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the recent Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
