‘Don’t know why I was dropped’: Prithvi Shaw says he is scared to share his thoughts

Prithvi Shaw has opened up about his mental struggles after being dropped from the Indian side and why he is scared to share his thoughts and doesn’t have many firends.
“As a person, I just like to be in my own zone. People say a lot of things about me. But those who know me, know how I am. I don’t have friends, I don’t like to make friends. This is what’s happening with this generation. You can’t share your thoughts with anyone else,” he told Cricbuzz in an interview.
“If you ask me personally, it’s very scary. Darr lagta hai aajkal to share my thoughts. Agle din social media mein aa jaata hai(I’m scared to share my thoughts. Somehow all of it comes up on social media).
“I’ve very less friends, only a couple of friends, and even with them I don’t share everything, only a few things.”
The Mumbai batter also admitted that he was disappointed that he didn’t get picked for the West Indies tour.
“When I was dropped [from the Indian team], I didn’t get to know the reason,” he said.
“Someone was saying it could be fitness. But of course, I came here [to Bengaluru] and cleared all the tests at the NCA, again scored runs and again came back to the T20 team.
“But again didn’t get a chance in the West Indies. I’m disappointed but you just have to move forward. I can’t do anything, I can’t fight with anyone,” he added.

Shaw had a poor outing in the Duleep Trophy and now he will be going to England to play County Cricket with Northamptonshire.
“I just want to take it as any other game. It’s just like the first-class games we play here. Nothing huge, just a different experience. Getting an invitation from there means a lot.
“It’s the same – I’ll have to go there and score runs for the team because that’s what they are expecting from me. Obviously, they have seen me perform and that’s why they have called me there. There might be something they think I’m capable of doing. I think I’ll have a great time,” Shaw said.
