After US-Israel joint attack on Tehran, Trump asks Iranians to ‘take over government’ | World News

On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said, “A short time ago, the United States military began major combat operations in Iran. Our objective is to defend the American people eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime, a vicious group of very hard, terrible people.”
In an eight-minute televised remarks, Trump urged the Iranian people to “take over your government” once the military action is completed.
The president claimed that Iran “attempted to rebuild their nuclear program and to continue developing long range missiles that can now threaten our very good friends and allies in Europe, our troops stationed overseas and could seen reach the American homeland.”
He said that the US is undertaking a “massive” operation to “prevent this very wicked radical dictatorship from threatening America”.
“For forty-seven years, Iran has chanted death to America and wage an unending campaign of bloodshed, taregting the United states and its people,” he said.
The strikes, which Trump said were ⁠aimed ​at destroying Iranian missiles and annihilating its navy, follow repeated U.S.-Israeli warnings that they would strike Iran again if it pressed ahead with its ​nuclear ​and ballic missile programs.Story continues below this ad
“I do ⁠not make this statement lightly. The Iranian regime seeks to kill,” Trump ‌said.
“The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost and we may have casualties that often happens in war, but we’re doing this, not for now. ⁠We’re doing this ⁠for the future, and it is a noble mission.”
Trump sent out a message to the members ⁠of ‌the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, Iran’s armed ​forces, to lay down ‌their weapons, promising that they would be granted immunity. He said that the other option will be “certain death.”
“To the members ⁠of ‌the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, Iran’s armed ​forces, I say it tonight, that you must lay down your weapons. or in the alternative, face certain death.”
