Hrithik Roshan ‘disagrees with the politics’ of Dhurandhar, talks about filmmakers’ responsibilities but applauds the film: ‘Amazing’ | Bollywood News

As filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar is making a lot of noise on social media after its release, the film has also become a matter of debate among audiences for its political undertones and provocative storytelling. Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has also taken to Instagram to praise it, but he admitted that he ‘disagrees with the politics’ of the film.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Hrithik wrote, “I love cinema, I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control, spin them, shake them until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema.”
The War 2 actor continued, “I may disagree with the politics of it, and argue about the responsibilities us filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, can’t ignore how loved and learnt from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.” Like Ranveer’s character in Dhurandhar, Hrithik also plays a spy in Yash Raj Films’ high-profile spy franchise, War.

Akshay Kumar also took to social media to laud the film. He admitted that he was “blown away” the narrative and wrote, “Watched Dhurandhar and I’m blown away. What a gripping tale and you’ve simply nailed it @AdityaDharFilms. We need our stories to be told in a hard-hitting way and I’m so glad the audiences are giving the film all the love it deserves.”
Ayushmann Khurrana called Ranveer Singh a “stud” for his portrayal in the film and wrote, “Bollywood just peaked with #Dhurandhar @adityadhar take a bow. Kya stud hai tu @ranveersingh.”
Dhurandhar takes inspiration from real-life events involving geopolitical tensions and covert operations conducted India’s R&AW in Pakan. The film also stars Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles. The film has collected Rs 179 crore within six days of release, according to Sacnilk.
