Hyderabad weather update: SRH fans will have reason to cheer after washout against Gujarat Titans | Ipl News

Hyderabad weather update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert (rainfall) for Hyderabad for Saturday evening with the city receiving rainfall. Media reports from Hyderabad reported heavy rainfall in some parts of the city. This will put fans of Sunrisers Hyderabad in some concern.
This is because Sunrisers Hyderabad are to face Punjab Kings in the first IPL match of Sunday at 3:30 pm in the afternoon. SRH fans had seen their previous match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad abandoned due to rainfall.
Before the start of Saturday’s IPL match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Chennai Super Kings, SRH are third in the standings with 15 points from 13 IPL matches, Meanwhile, Punjab Kings are already eliminated after accumulating just 10 points from 13 games so far in IPL 2024. The Kings have already named Jitesh Sharma as the captain of the team for their final group stage game with England’s Sam Curran leaving for England for international duty.
Hyderabad weather forecast for Sunday
As per the IMD website, the Hyderabad weather forecast for Sunday reads: “Partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain or thunderstorm or duststorm.”
However, the Twitter handle of the Director Of Enforcement, Vigilance & Disaster Management, GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) was clear about the Hyderabad weather forecast for Sunday. It predicted that there will be “generally cloudy skies” with light rain or thundershowers accompanied gusty winds” very likely to occur during late evenings or night. This might be good news, since Sunday’s IPL match is an afternoon clash that should get over 7:30 pm rather than starting at 7:30 pm.
Accuweather , meanwhile, predicted “mostly sunny and humid” conditions for the afternoon (since the SRH vs PBKS IPL match is at 3:30 pm). The Hyderabad weather forecast for the evening on Sunday was “partly cloudy and humid conditions”.
What happens if SRH vs PHBS is washed out
While the chances of a washout look remote considering the Hyderabad weather forecast for Sunday, just in case the match is not possible SRH will not be too troubled. They have already accumulated 15 points with one game left, meaning if Chennai Super Kings defeat RCB in Saturday’s IPL match, SRH will still be in fourth place. Getting a point will be perfectly fine with them, but there may be concerns about heading to the IPL Playoffs without playing in two matches due to the Hyderabad weather.
Even if they lose to the Punjab Kings, they have done enough to make the Playoffs cut.
