‘I am busier than Shah Rukh Khan’: Anurag Kashyap abuses haters, says he turns down three projects a day, has five movies releasing this year | Bollywood News

Director Anurag Kashyap has returned to old form on X, formerly known as Twitter, after taking a backseat from social media in recent years. Clarifying his recent statements about quitting the Hindi film industry and moving to Kerala, he wrote on social media that he has more work than ever, and, contrary to popular belief, he isn’t leaving filmmaking for good.
The Gangs of Wasseypur director wrote on X, “I have relocated cities. I have not left filmmaking. For all the people who think I am frustrated and gone. I am here, and I am busier than Shah Rukh Khan (I have to be; I don’t make as much money). I don’t have dates until 2028. I have five directorial projects hopefully coming out this year or maybe three now and two early next year. I have the longest IMDb, and I am so employed that I say no to 3 projects a day. So pls go suck your own **** or if you are flexible enough lick your own ***.”

Before making this post, Kashyap had posted an announcement about his first Telugu/Hindi bilingual film Dacoit, which he is only an actor in. Kashyap’s last project as a director was the film festival hit Kennedy, which is yet to get a commercial release. His last film that saw the light of day was Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat.
Kashyap has often complained about the kind of films that his Bollywood colleagues have been churning out. He said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, that he is leaving Mumbai as he has lost all hope in the industry. Criticising streaming platforms, he wrote on social media after watching the Netflix show Adolescence. “I am numb and envious and jealous that someone can go and make that. It’s better than any film or anything I’ve seen. Netflix India is a totally opposite sh**show . If they were pitched this, most probably they would have rejected it or turned it into a 90 minute film (that too seems like an impossibility because it doesn’t have an ending that is black and white).”
In the THR interview, Kashyap had said, “I want to move out of Mumbai next year. I am going to the South. I want to go where there is stimulation. Otherwise, I will die as an old man. I am so disappointed and disgusted my own industry. I am disgusted the mindset.”
