International Cricket Council (ICC) chief Jay Shah rose to the 24th spot — up 11 ranks from last year — in the IE 100 l of the most powerful people in India in 2025.
Besides Jay Shah, Nita Ambani and Viswanathan Anand are also sports adminrators who find a spot in the IE 100 ranks. While Nita Ambani — India’s face in the Olympics universe and is one of the influential figures in domestic cricket and football — ranks 26th, Anand, who is a Deputy President with FIDE, is at No 36.

After controlling Indian cricket for the last six years, Jay Shah, as the Chair of the ICC, is undoubtedly the most powerful adminrator in the world of sport now. The ICC has been sailing through rough waters in recent times and with his clout, one can expect Shah to steady the ship on the operational and commercial front before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics comes calling, where cricket is set to make its debut.
