ICC T20I bowling rankings: Adil Rashid reclaims No. 1 spot, Varun Chakaravarthy reaches career-high No. 5 | Cricket News

England spinner Adil Rashid reclaimed the top spot on the latest ICC T20I bowling rankings update on Thursday after his performances in the ongoing T20I series against India.
The veteran English leggie who was top of the charts for a majority of the last two years vaulted back to the top spot after West Indies left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein’s brief stay at the top. Rashid has been among England’s prime bowlers in the series where they have signalled a turnaround with victory in Rajkot after two defeats to start the series in Kolkata and Chennai.
The 36-year-old’s economical four-over analysis of 1/15 in the third T20I eventually helped England eke out a 26-run win over the hosts. Besides Rashid, England seamer Jofra Archer also burst back into the top 10, jumping 13 spots to No. 6 on the charts.

While India’s leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi slid down to No. 10, his compatriot Varun Chakaravarthy rose to a career-high No. 5 spot with his rating rising to 659. Chakarvarthy’s sensational five-wicket haul in Rajkot could propel India to a victory. However, his dominant display was accorded with the Player of the Match title. Chakaravarthy also became the first Indian bowler to pick up 10 wickets in two different bilateral T20I series.
Arshdeep Singh is the top-ranked Indian pacer, ranked ninth. Left-arm spin all-rounder Axar Patel sits just outside the top 10 after moving up five spots to 11th on the same l.
India and England will next square off in the fourth T20I at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Friday evening before the T20I leg of the series wraps up at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sundya.
