‘If you are going to play Sanju Samson at No. 5 or No. 6, play Rinku Singh instead’ | Cricket News

Sanju Samson has been in poor form in recent months, and his lack of runs emerged as a concern for the Indian team during their tour of the West Indies.
The wicketkeeper-batsman got chanced in the Indian team in limited-overs cricket, but could not capitalize on them.
He has been criticized for his inconsency, and he has often been guilty of throwing away his wicket after getting starts.
Samson is a talented batsman, but he needs to put in the hard work and make the necessary adjustments to his game. If he can do that, he will be a valuable asset to the Indian team for many years to come.
Former Indian international cricketer Abhishek Nayar shared his thoughts on the right-hander and said that the team mismanaged the wicketkeeper-batter sending him in the lower-middle order.
“I believe if you want to utilize Sanju Samson more, bat him at No. 3 because that is his number. He is used to that and he is successful there, or else don’t play him,” said Nayar on JioCinema.
According to Nayar, if India need a batter at the lower middle-order, they can play Rinku Singh instead.
“If you are going to play him at No. 5 or No. 6, play Rinku Singh instead. If you play Samson in the top three, you will get more out of him because he plays shots in the powerplay and then plays the spinners. So I believe not the right place but he will get opportunities,” said the former India batter.
