Nitish Kumar Reddy’s 100 during the fourth Border Gavaskar Trophy match was a joy to watch. The youngster playing his first series Down Under and the circumstances under which he got his century displayed his immense temperament and maturity. “If you saw my 100, it weren’t my shoes. Back in the locker room, he (Kohli) once asked Sarfaraz, ‘Sarfu, what’s your shoe size?’, and he said, ‘9’. Then he turned to me, and I thought, ‘Oh my god, I have to guess this correctly’ because even if they weren’t my size, I really wanted his shoes. I said, ’10’, and he gave them to me. In the next match, I wore those shoes and scored a hundred.”
Nitish cleared to play game
Nitish is cleared of the fitness test to participate for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025 season. The all-rounder has cleared the yo-yo Test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. The 21-year-old has been sidelined a side injury.

Nitish has last played for India in against England in a T20I at the Eden Gardens. Though he trained in the nets for the second T20I but was deemed unfit for the game and was eventually ruled out of the tournament.
Earlier Nitish had a fruitful tour to Australia where he impressed, making some valuable contributions including a gutsy 114 in the fourth Test at Melbourne.
The 21-year-old Nitish made his international debut against Bangladesh earlier in the year in October and went on to make his Test debut in Perth.
Nitish was retained the Hyderabad outfit for Rs 6 crore ahead of last year’s players’ auction after he made 303 runs for them from 13 matches at a strike rate of 143.
